Project summary

This project will provide sustainable human rights education involving staff, students and university management and infrastructure. It will provide:

  • Modernisation and reform of higher education through developing curricula, programmes, courses and pedagogy at degree level in human rights
  • Development of multi-disciplinary courses and programmes
  • Mainstreaming of gender issues and women's rights across programmes and courses
  • Programmes and courses through which the university, staff and students contribute to the development of societies
  • Enhanced cooperation across and between university departments
  • Development of mutual understanding and cooperation amongst universities in the region with specific interest and expertise in human rights and citizenship leading to the potential for sharing and developing sustainable programmes of study and practice in human rights
  • Support to enable students to learn about and for human rights at undergraduate degree and post-graduate degree level as a contribution to engaged citizenship
  • Enhanced student participation in a learning environment grounded in human rights principles of respect, equality and collaboration/participation
  • Students with experience of working with and contributing to civil society. Students with skills and knowledge that will contribute to their future employability.
  • Staff with the skills needed to develop human rights curricula at undergraduate and postgraduate levels that meet EU standards and provides a sustainable platform for ongoing curriculum development and reform
  • Opportunities for staff to collaborate in and develop sustainable networks across the region
  • Opportunities for staff to implement innovative teaching and learning pedagogies
  • Collaboration between faculties in order to enhance mutual understanding between staff in EU and partner countries and between partner countries.

Objectives

•    The development of human rights and citizenship education in each university based in a broad multi-disciplinary approach comprising both academic discipline and practice oriented engagement
•    The training and education of administrative and academic staff in delivering human rights and citizenship education as content, practice and pedagogy
•    The recruitment of students into programmes and courses
•    The preparation and training of students towards involvement in curriculum design and teaching and learning approaches
•    The creation of consistent quality assurance and control systems
•    The establishment of effective and appropriate cross disciplinary collaboration
•    The promotion of cross cultural learning understanding amongst participants
•    Recognition of the contribution that human rights education as content, practice and educational approach can make to the broader goals of the university, nation and region.

Abstract
Ovaj rad je zamišljen tako da se u njemu predstavi koncepcijski okvir za programiranje vaspitanja i obrazovanja na osnovama vrednosnih orijentacija, ljudskih prava, razvojnim potrebama našeg društva i meĊunarodnim demokratskim standardima. Potreba za pruţanjem takve nastave predstavlja znaĉajan izazov nastavniĉkom zanimanju. To znaĉi uĉenje novih oblika znanja, razvijanje novih nastavnih metoda, pronalaţenje novih naĉina rada i stvaranje novih vidova profesionalnih odnosa. Ovde plediramo uĉenje i pouĉavanje mladih koji će imati liĉno polazište, vlastiti pogled na svakodnevna dešavanja, koji će osvestiti vlastite mogućnosti i sposobnosti da sagledaju stvarnost i shodno tome da deluju, koji će biti odgovorni i sposobni da prosuĊuju. Obrazovanje za ljudska prava u kurikulumu moţe biti zastupljeno, izmeĊu ostalog, putem programa multikulturalnog i interkulturalnog obrazovanja koji u prvi plan stavlja uĉenje o razlikama, na šta su autorke posebno obratile paţnju. To je veoma vaţno i sa stanovišta školskog vaspitanja i obrazovanja jer je ĉinjenica da su odeljenja heterogena i po pitanju nacionalnosti, vere, moralnih uverenja i bitno je da te razliĉitosti ne dovode do konflikata i diskriminacije. Stoga, da bi današnje škole bile uspešne moraju da neguju i obrazovanje za demokratiju, ljudska prava i toleranciju.
